The color batch matters too. Barrette’s “Desert Tan” shifted from a pinker aggregate blend to a more gray-gold mix around 2019, and the difference is visible in direct afternoon sun, which is most of the year in Rancho Cucamonga. • Surface spalling or corner chipping on individual pavers. Barrette’s concrete mix is durable, but de-icing salts or fertilizer runoff from adjacent landscaping can cause surface deterioration. ProStone holds up better than Sierra against chemical exposure.

An owner can safely check whether a rocking paver lifts out by hand, photograph the underside pattern for identification, and verify whether the edge restraint is loose enough to pull with gloved fingers.
